According to the portal “Ukrainian newspaper.com”, on the 14th of March as a result of an accident, two districts of Zhitmor city (Kroshnya and Boguniya) were left without power. As local media informed, this accident happened at about 11 o'clock. 359 lifts simultaneously stopped to work. To make things worse, at that time 46 people were trapped in lift cabins! They had to wait for a few hours until lift operators managed to get them out. Additional emergency crews had to be involved to release people from “lift traps”. However, according to preliminary data, there was no harm done.

Building society that basically owns these lifts has informed about necessity to replace all lift components and parts which failed due to this accident. Most parts unfortunately cannot be repaired.
