  Today we are pleased to report that this year our colleagues from Russia are going to implement a large-scale program by restoration of the lift fleet in St. Petersburg.
According to the information portal «State Order», city authorities are ready to allocate from the local budget one and a half billion rubles for repair and modernization of lifts in 204 high-rise buildings. It is planned to restore more than 700 lifts. It is really not clear who exactly will implement the program. At the present time the city administration is holding a competition among contracting companies that specialize in the repair and replacement of lifts. In terms of the agreement it is stated that the equipment will be provided by a particular manufacturer.    As “Lift Press” reported, in the result of staff's inspection in Federal accreditation service, the violation of businessmen rights was found.
    Contrary to current legislation, the inspection was carried out by some managers instead of specialists from The Russian accreditation. In spite of the fact that such organizations have no competence in controlling and evaluating, they have charged certain pay for the service. According to this situation, General public prosecution of Russia has applied to Minister of Economy to form common legal act base. The last one could regulate relationship between businessmen and the Russian accreditation.

   In the Ministry an urgent conference was conducted, where the decision of new methods implementation for identification accreditation service and payment plan was made. Furthermore, The Ministry of Economy gave exact instructions about differentiation between inspective and governmental control.

   Alexej Kashuba filled the position of State Inspector of the supervision department for electric network and installations of the central administration of the Federal Service for Environmental, Technological and Nuclear Supervision in the Tver region. Until recently he was one of the best employees. However, the incident that occurred between him and the head of the homeowners association «Migalovskaya embankment» canceled out his career forever.
   The journalists of the site «Tver. No Format» reported that the inspector was on a scheduled inspection, when he made sure that the lifts on the basis of the company were working properly. Taking advantage of his official position, he tried to mislead the head of the homeowners association and convince him that the lifts can not be put into operation. At the same time the inspector proposed to «settle» all questions by material compensation in the amount of fifty thousand roubles. Part of these funds, according to Kashuba, would be transferred to another inspector, who is specializing in the inspection of load lifting mechanisms in the management of Federal Service for Environmental, Technological and Nuclear Supervision.
   These data were published in the regional court, which sentenced Alexej Kashuba to four years imprisonment in a penal colony. In addition, the public prosecutor asked to exact from the extortioner the compensation, which is in 40 times more than the size of the required bribe.
